June 14th,
2026:
Miami County farm operators will have an opportunity to
safely dispose of unwanted farm pesticides during a free
collection event hosted by the Ohio Department of
Agriculture on August 24, 2026.
The one-day event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. at the North Gate of the Miami County Fairgrounds,
located at 650 North County Road 25A in Troy.
The collection program is designed specifically for
agricultural producers and provides a safe,
environmentally responsible way to dispose of unused or
unwanted farm pesticides at no cost. The service helps
reduce the risks associated with storing outdated
chemicals while supporting responsible stewardship of
Ohio's agricultural lands and water resources.
Participants should note that only farm chemicals will
be accepted. The program will not accept paint,
antifreeze, solvents, household pesticides, or other
non-farm chemicals.
The pesticide collection and disposal program is
sponsored by the Ohio Department of Agriculture in
cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency. Organizers encourage eligible participants to
pre-register for the event.
